Hey there, sports fans! Get ready for another crazy day of Smartphone Madness. Past matches have seen less popular phones rout the Samsung Galaxy Note tablet-phone and the all-mighty iPhone 4S. Yesterday’s contest ended with the Samsung Galaxy S II eeking out a victory over the ASUS Padfone by a margin of 125 votes. Will today’s challenge, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus against the Pantech Burst, be an equally unpredictable match?
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus could take this one folks. This massive 4.7-inch smartphone was the first to wear Android 4.0's colors, which, we remind you, is an operating system that’s still hard to find on other handsets. The Nexus is powered by a 1.2-GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor with 1GB of RAM. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE data speeds will work in its favor. Plus, the huge screen isn’t just good for visual real estate, it also packs a super sharp 1280 x 720-pixel high-resolution display. As a buzzer beater, the Galaxy Nexus also includes a 5-MP rear-facing camera that can capture 1080p video.
If you love a good Cinderella story in your March Madness action, you may be placing a vote for the Pantech Burst. This affordable handset features low-profile specs when compared to massive super-phones (such as the Galaxy Nexus) but it still earned a spot in our Top 10 Smartphones list. That’s because for $50 bucks, Pantech adds in a 4-inch display that may be small on pixels (800 x 480) but boasts 500 lux of shine. The Burst’s 1.2-GHz dual-core processor and AT&T 4G LTE speeds mean this player has much to commend it.
Is this match-up nothing but net for the Galaxy Nexus, or will the Pantech Burst spark an upset? You tell us! Vote for the device you think should win in our poll below. Poll closes tomorrow at 9 a.m. EST!
Then tune in tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. EST as the unknown Nokia Lumia 900 faces the endurance champ, the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx.
